The RS-790 uses Tusa’s R-700 first stage with a Dry Ambient Pressure Chamber that keeps water off the diaphragm and spring, helping it hold steady breathing in cold water below 50°F/10°C. A ribbed top cap adds heat transfer to help reduce the risk of internal parts freezing, and the port layout, two high-flow low-pressure ports plus two standard LP ports and two HP ports near the diaphragm, is built to boost airflow by up to 15%. The S-90 second stage is pneumatically balanced for smoother breathing, and its two-position Venturi lever lets you switch between a surface setting to cut down free flow and a dive setting for stronger airflow once you’re underwater.
The DC Solar Link dive computer rounds out the package with a solar rechargeable design, so there are no batteries to replace, plus Bluetooth SMART connectivity that syncs your dive log to the TUSA Diving LOG app on a phone or tablet. It runs the AA Buhlmann ZHL-16C decompression algorithm, supports four gas mixes from 21 to 100% oxygen, and includes a Free-Dive Mode for freediving sessions.
