Wearable Vibration Sleeve

Therabody RecoveryPulse Arm

This one is a garment. It pulls on over the upper arm and holds five QX-Micro Motors inside the fabric itself, positioned to sit over the biceps, triceps and forearm muscles. A size Medium weighs 6.8 oz with its battery fitted, which is roughly the weight of a phone spread across your whole arm.

Three vibration patterns run from the sleeve: Low, High and Wave. The battery is a removable pack of 47 by 52 by 11 mm that gives 45 minutes of run time, and the fabric is a 70% germanium polyester blend with 30% nylon and spandex. Five sizes cover bicep circumferences from 22 cm to over 40 cm, so this is sized like clothing and should be measured like clothing.

How It Works

Motors, fabric, fit and power

Four things make up this sleeve. Two of them, the motors and the fabric blend, are published in full. The third, what Therabody calls compression therapy, is worth reading carefully before you buy.

?Vibration Therapy from 5 QX-Micro MotorsFive motors are integrated into the sleeve, spaced along the arm so the vibration lands on the biceps, triceps and forearm muscles at once. Three patterns are selectable: Low, High and Wave, where Wave moves the emphasis across the motors while Low and High hold it steady.Low · High · Wave?Germanium-infused FabricThe sleeve is 70% germanium polyester with 30% nylon and spandex. The nylon-spandex share is what gives it stretch and hold on the arm. Therabody’s account of what germanium does involves far infrared energy, and that is their explanation, offered here as theirs.70% germanium polyester?Compression Therapy, and what is actually publishedTherabody uses the phrase compression therapy for this sleeve. Read it as a snug elastic garment: there is no pump, no air bladder and no hose here. No pressure figure in mmHg, no chamber count and no pressure levels appear anywhere in the specification, so we quote none.Elastic sleeve, no air chambers?A removable battery pack, 45 minutes to a chargeThe battery is a separate pack measuring 47 by 52 by 11 mm that lifts out of the sleeve, which is how the fabric goes into its pouch for washing. Run time is 45 minutes. Charging is over the USB-C to USB-A cable and adapter supplied in the box.45 minutes · USB-C

Living With It

Eight practical points

A wearable is judged on weight, fit and how easily it goes back on tomorrow. These are the eight figures and features that decide that.

The pod, the weave and the fit

Controls

Vibration Therapy: three patterns, five motors

Everything runs from the pod on the sleeve. Low and High are steady intensities. Wave moves the emphasis between the five QX-Micro Motors, so the sensation travels along the arm while the sleeve stays still. Because the motors are built into the fabric, the vibration reaches the arm through the weave, with no head to press and no handle to hold. That is the practical difference between this and a massage gun: you can use it with both hands busy.

  • 5 QX-Micro Motors integrated into the sleeve
  • 3 vibration patterns: Low, High and Wave
  • Targets the biceps, triceps and forearm muscles
  • Battery life: 45 minutes per charge
  • No app, no Bluetooth pairing and no phone required

Germanium-infused Fabric, in exact proportions

The blend is published, which is more than most recovery garments give you: 70% germanium polyester, 30% nylon and spandex. The germanium polyester is the part Therabody builds its story on; the nylon and spandex are the part that keeps the sleeve gripping a working arm through 45 minutes of vibration. Therabody explains germanium as reflecting far infrared energy back toward the body. We are printing that as their explanation and leaving the fabric composition to speak for itself.

  • Material: 70% germanium polyester, 30% nylon and spandex
  • Germanium-infused fabric throughout the sleeve, not a panel or an insert
  • Stretch comes from the nylon-spandex share
  • Battery removes for washing; laundry pouch supplied
  • Weight without the battery: 5.9 oz (168 g), size M

Targeted relief for your on-the-go lifestyle

Five sizes, chosen on one measurement: the circumference of your bicep at its widest. XS starts at 22 cm and XL runs from 40 cm upward, with overlap between the middle sizes so most arms have a clear answer. At 6.8 oz with the battery in, the sleeve sits under a training top or a work shirt, and the 45-minute run time is about the length of a commute or a lunch break. Take the sleeve, the pouch and the cable, and the whole thing packs smaller than a pair of trainers.

  • XS: 8.6–10.2 in (22–26 cm) bicep circumference
  • S: 9.0–11.8 in (23–30 cm)
  • M: 10.6–13.4 in (27–34 cm)
  • L: 12.2–16.5 in (31–42 cm)
  • XL: 15.7 in and over (40 cm and over)
  • In the box: sleeve, USB-C to USB-A charging cable, charging adapter, travel pouch

These three sit in the same part of the Therabody range and work in different ways. The RecoveryPulse Arm is the only one worn on the arm, and the only one without a pump.

Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

No. There is no pump, no air bladder and no hose on this product. It is a fitted elastic sleeve with vibration motors sewn into it. Therabody’s copy uses the phrase Compression Therapy, and the compression it refers to is the fit of the garment on your arm.Therabody publishes no pressure figure, no chamber count and no pressure levels for this sleeve, so there is nothing for us to quote. If a graded pressure number matters to your decision, the JetBoots compression boots publish theirs and this garment does not.Low, High and Wave. Low and High are steady intensities. Wave moves the vibration between the five motors so it travels along the arm. Therabody publishes no frequency in Hz for any of the three.Five QX-Micro Motors, integrated into the sleeve fabric and positioned to sit over the biceps, triceps and forearm muscles when the sleeve is on.45 minutes of run time. Therabody does not publish a charge time, so we cannot tell you how long it takes to fill. The cable is USB-C to USB-A and both the cable and a charging adapter come in the box.Measure the circumference of your bicep at its widest point. XS covers 22–26 cm, S covers 23–30 cm, M covers 27–34 cm, L covers 31–42 cm and XL starts at 40 cm. The ranges overlap deliberately, so if you fall in an overlap, the smaller size gives a firmer hold and the larger one is easier to pull on over a pumped arm.A size Medium is 6.8 oz (193 g) with the battery in, and 5.9 oz (168 g) without it. The battery accounts for about 25 g of that, and it lifts out.The battery pack is removable, which is what makes cleaning the fabric possible, and a laundry and travel pouch is supplied with the sleeve. Follow the care label that ships in the box for the washing method. The sleeve is 70% germanium polyester and 30% nylon and spandex. Therabody’s explanation is that germanium fabric reflects far infrared energy back toward the body. That is their account of the mechanism, and we are reporting it as such. The blend percentage is the checkable part.Therabody publishes no FDA status for the RecoveryPulse Arm, so this page states none. Other products in the range carry an explicit designation; this one does not, and we will not infer one on its behalf. That is the point of the format. At 6.8 oz with no handle to hold and no cable to a wall, it goes on under a training top or a work shirt and leaves both hands free. Therabody markets it for travel, shift work and the hour after a session. We make no medical claim for it, and neither should any retailer. Therabody’s own copy describes pain relief and reduced soreness around the elbow and the surrounding muscles; that is Therabody’s claim in Therabody’s words. What the device demonstrably is: five vibration motors, three patterns, 45 minutes, worn on the arm. If you are treating a diagnosed injury, ask the clinician managing it.No app and no Bluetooth integration is published for this model. All three patterns are selected on the sleeve itself, which is one fewer thing to charge, pair and update. The RecoveryPulse Arm sleeve, a USB-C to USB-A charging cable, a charging adapter and a laundry and travel pouch. The sleeve carries a 1-year limited warranty.47 by 52 by 11 mm. It is the only part of this product Therabody dimensions; no overall device measurements are published, because the sleeve is sized by your arm measurement. They treat different limbs and work by different means. JetBoots are pneumatic boots for the legs, with published pressure ranges and air chambers. The RecoveryPulse Arm is a vibration sleeve for the upper arm, at a fraction of the weight and price. Buy on the limb you want treated first.
