The Smith & Wesson Large SWAT has a black finish stainless blade with dual thumb studs, anodized aluminum handles with textured black inserts and assisted opening, closing to 4.875 inches.
Textured inserts set into the aluminum are the practical detail. Bare anodized metal turns slick when wet, and panels of textured material at the contact points give grip without adding the weight of a full synthetic scale. Dual thumb studs mean the blade opens one-handed from either side, so the knife works the same whichever hand reaches for it.
Assisted opening means a spring finishes the motion once the stud is pushed, so the blade deploys in one movement even with gloved hands. At 4.875 inches closed this is a large folder, sized for a jacket or belt rather than a trouser pocket. Explore more Assisted Opening Knives.
