The SI-TEX MDA-1 is a Class B AIS transceiver in a compact 5.5 x 3.9 x 1.9 inch module. It’s IPx7 waterproof, so it can mount almost anywhere aboard. Its Rmax Class B engine gives maximum range and efficient real-time messaging.
An internal 50-channel GPS smart antenna removes the need for an external GPS antenna in many installations, as long as the unit has a clear view of the sky. It has NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000 and USB connections for plug-and-play setup. Power is 12 to 24 volts at 150 mA.
In the US, a Class B transceiver must be programmed with your MMSI number by a qualified technician before use. You’ll need your MMSI registration or FCC Ship Station License and a signed programming form from the vessel owner or master. Plan for that step when ordering. Browse more marine networking.
