The Marbles Wilderness Life Savers Set holds a G.I. utility knife and a waterproof stainless matchsafe, both reproduced from the originals.
The G.I. utility knife is the four-blade pattern issued to US troops for decades: a stainless spear blade, a can opener, a bottle opener with a screwdriver tip and a punch, on a 3.625 inch frame with stainless handles stamped U S. It comes with a bail, so it hangs from a belt loop or a lanyard rather than sitting loose in a pocket.
The matchsafe is 2.625 inches of waterproof stainless, and it exists because matches are useless wet. A sealed tube is the difference between a fire and a cold night. Both pieces are reproductions of the originals rather than modern designs, which is what makes the set worth having over a generic equivalent. Explore more camp accessories.
