The Hella Marine NaviLED Stern Navigation Lamp is a 2NM white lamp in a white housing.
A stern lamp shows white through a 135-degree arc astern, which is a different sector from the sidelights and the masthead light. Together they make up the pattern that tells another vessel your heading and aspect, so a stern lamp is not interchangeable with an all-round white light despite both showing white.
NaviLED lamps draw under 10 percent of the power a bulb lamp of equal visible distance would need. On a boat running navigation lights through a night passage that difference is meaningful, particularly under sail with no engine charging.
With no filament to break, the lamp is shock and vibration proof in conditions that would finish a bulb. A stern lamp mounts where it takes spray and knocks, and it is proven across commercial, military and recreational vessels. Explore more navigation lights.
